Tim Arfons

From the time he was born in 1955, Tim Arfons was exposed to a work ethic that combined speed, excitement, showmanship and "thinking outside of the box." Growing up under the watchful eye of his father, the legendary three-time outright land speed record holder, Art Arfons, it was probably only natural Tim would follow his father's path. As he grew to adulthood, Tim watched and later began to participate in his Dad's quests in the famed "Green Monster" to be the "Fastest Man on Earth" on the Bonneville Salt Flats of Utah.

Tim tried to run Kamikaze II on the drag strip but it was ill handling so he decided to built it because when he tried to run itk, it was too short of a wheelbase and ill handling at speeds over 150 mph. it was being booked so much during the winter months, that I was turning down bookings for Kamikaze so I decided to build a second jet four wheeler specifically for the drag strip. I built it with a longer wheelhbase and smaller tires all the way around also the front fenders were clipped to prevent creating lift at speed. It performed well at indoor shows and was very stable on the drag strip, running its best of 167 on the drag strip. It was the second vehicle that was bild with an all chrome enigne. This bike is now in Holland.

It was the first jet bike to be officially licensed by IHRA in 1999.
